This statue is the creation of James Earle Fraser. The bronze statue stand 13 feet tall. It commemorates the 3rd President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson was President when the Louisiana Purchase was completed and the Lewis and Clark Expedition was conducted, both very significant events in Missouri history.
