There is a pair of old wooden doors tucked flat in the side of a hall which gives way to an old cellar.

I couldn't figure out what the heck this thing was for until I went home and read the nomination form...two years later. The narrative simply reads a brick-arched root cellar southwest of the house. SOURCE

The cellar is to the rear of the house on the southwestern end or back left if facing the house at the front, next to a winding path which gives eventually gives way to an interpretive, if walking away from the house in a southwesterly direction.
