The Bush-Breyman Block is a Queen Anne style commercial building constructed in 1889. It features brick construction built on a stone foundation with a cast-iron front and interior columns. It was designed by local architect Walter D. Pugh for Salem Statesman (newspaper) founder Asahel Bush, who was president of the Ladd & Bush Bank, and for the Breyman Brothers, merchants and financiers. A fire in the 1960s damaged the Bush portion of the building, resulting in it being demolished and replaced by a parking lot; the Breyman portion remains.
