This set of four utility boxes stands in front of Original Joe's restaurant. The boxes are wrapped with photographic quality scenes visible at this intersection. Each of the four sides portrays the matching scene along the street when viewed from that side. I tried to get photos showing how the boxes blend into the background.

When viewing these boxes from the street, looking towards Joe's, one can barely detect the boxes, as the scene depicted on the boxes closely matches the actual view of Joes restaurant. Two of the boxes depict the gray stone planter boxes of Joe's. The other boxes match the red brick of Joe's building and a window. If you look closely you can see the ventilation louvers of the boxes themselves.

The Original Joe's side of the utility boxes can be seen in Google Street View.

Standing on the sidewalk in front of Joe's and looking towards the street, the scene looks just like the buildings across the street from Joe's. The two end boxes show views looking up and down the street in front of Joe's.

This is part of a new project in San Jose, using box wraps. Four photographs are taken facing each of the directions from where the utility boxes stand. These images are placed on a thin material that is adhered to the box, so that it blends into the scenery in a way. Standing on any of the four sides and looking in the direction of the box, one sees the same street scene as depicted on the side of the utility box.
