This mural is across the street from the Diridon Light Rail Transit Station. This is a main downtown station for coming to San Jose, so this mural will greet visitors.

In addition to the words "Welcome to San Jose" and "Established in 1777", this mural has a collage of iconic features of San Jose.
To the right of the text is the locally beloved NHL San Jose Sharks center, Joe Thorton, number 19. The mural, as well as a nearby utility box, is done in the color of teal blue, the Sharks color. Behind Joe is the HP Pavilion Arena, home of the San Jose Sharks. Blended with the pavilion is the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.
To the left of the text is a printed circuit board tracing, a Cal Train engine and the sign from the De Anza Hotel.
