Walking through the old town of Koblenz one finds a number of statues which are set up in memory of some "special" and unforgotten citizens ("Originale"). In a small square in the "Etzegäßchen", there is one for an old lady who lived in the 20s of the 20th Century. Her real name was Annemarie Stein, but she was nicknamed "Pfefferminzje" (peppermint) because she sold peppermint for her livelihood. Every evening she made her way through the old town pubs and got her brandy and cigars which she liked to smoke. Also she was fond of cats and dogs and they were fond of her.
The statue is life-size, is made of stone and stands on a podestal carrying her nick-name "Pfefferminzje". At her feet, there are a cat and a dog. She is carrying a basket and a handbag and holds a cigar in her hand. She is wearing glasses and a shoal around her head.
