1913: The House of Romanov celebrates the 300th anniversary of its succession to the throne, amidst an outpouring of monarchist sentiment in Russia.
1923: Time Magazine hits newsstands in the United States for the first time.
1933: The London Underground diagram designed by Harry Beck is introduced to the public
1943: 50 bombers mount the first all American air raid against Germany; Wilhelmshaven is the target.
