This church was built in 1867-68 and then enlarged in 1888 with a bay in the back. It was also modified in 1961 when the tower in the front was added enclosing an open porch. However, the main building is the original from circa 1867 and is one of the few remaining examples of the very plain Methodist style meeting halls in Canada.

The church was originally Methodist but in the 1920's there was a union of Methodist and Congretationalist (with some Presbyterians) to create the United Church of Canada. A history of the church can be found by clicking the secondary link.
