This font is situated at the west end of the cathedral, on the central line and not far from the main north entrance. It is faced with eight slabs of polished pink marble and placed on an octagonal single step base, also of polished pink marble. The eastern-most base slab has an glass insert with an etching of a John Dory fish, also known as St Pierre or Peter's Fish. The font cover is an inverted copper bowl.
