On a large cornerstone at the northeast corner of First Christian Church, this stone reads:
For Other Foundation
Can No Man Lay Than
That is Laid, Which is
Jesus Christ.

This is a cubical, two-story red brick church building, with a partially exposed basement level. The main entrance is raised with a wide 15-step stairway, which leads to three entrance doors. The entrance has six stone columns which support a projected pediment which rises above the roof line. The windows are stained glass. Above the entrance door is a stone frieze which reads: "FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH".
