This water tower is part of the Thomas Kay Woolen Mills complex, a historic mill built in 1896. The tank is approximately 80 feet tall and is adjacent to the north wall of the mill. The top of the tank is a benchmark.

A great way to see this benchmark up close is to visit the Mission Mill Museum grounds. Access to the museum is from Mill Street, west of 14th street. Entry into the grounds is free and you can walk around behind the mill and get an up close look at the tower. But by all means, please resist the urge to climb to the top!
