This "You Are Here" map is located along Mill Creek within the Mission Mill Museum. The sign includes historical information describing Mill Creek, the Mill Race and the use of water power at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill, a Victorian era factory complex is unique in the Pacific Northwest as the best preserved example of an English/Eastern seaboard style woolen mill. The mill was founded by Thomas Kay in 1889, but the original building burned in 1895 and was replaced by the current structure in 1896. The mill produced blankets, flannels and other clothing items using Oregon-grown wool. Until it's sale to the the Mission Mill Museum Association in 1895 it was under the continuous control of the Thomas Kay family.
