O LOCAL
A Praça campo do côrro é uma das principais praças da cidade, ela está colocada ao lado da histórica ponte que atravessa o Rio Lima. A praça é a principal ligação da cidade as belas margens do Rio Lima e principalmente no verão costuma estar cheia de pessoas a passear a beira rio.

A PESSOA
O presidente da Câmara Municipal de Ponte da Barca, António Vassalo Abreu, nasceu em 1950 e é natural de Esposende, iniciou o seu percurso político em Paredes de Coura, onde viveu durante dezasseis anos. Único vereador nomeado pela CDU (na altura APU) no concelho, em 1982. Mais tarde mudou-se para a cidade de Ponte da Barca e em 2005 candidatou-se a Presidente da Câmara de Ponte da Barca pelo Partido Socialista e foi eleito, cargo que mantém até hoje.

THE LOCATION
The Campo do Côrro Square is one of the main city squares, it is located beside the historic bridge that crosses the River Lima. The square is the main connection of the city to the beautiful banks of the River Lima and especially in the summer is usually full of people strolling the waterfront.


THE PERSON
The Mayor of Ponte da Barca, Vassallo Antonio Abreu, was born in 1950 and was born in Braga, he began his political career in Paredes de Coura, where he lived for sixteen years. Only councilor nominated by CDU (then APU) in the municipality in 1982. Later he moved to the town of Ponte da Barca and in 2005 he ran for mayor of Ponte da Barca by the Socialist Party and was elected, a position he holds today.
