On the southeast side of the Creek County Courthouse is a monument "Dedicated to these Creek County peace officers who died in the line of duty serving their communities."
The names of seventeen men, their police departments, and the dates they perished are engraved on three gray granite, vertical monuments. At the top of the center monument is a quotation from the Bible to honor these men. It reads: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God - Matt. 5:9" Beneath this is an engraving of a police shield and rose.
The monument was donated by Ed and Melba Livermore, long-time residents of Sapulpa, and former owners of several Oklahoma newspapers.
