This abandoned truss bridge can be seen from the road as Newton Street turns into Bridge Street or from the south on Scott River Rd. At first I thought it was an abandoned railroad bridge but upon closer inspection it was obvious that this bridge was part of a the road that made up Scott River Rd. I located a website that contains information on bridges that were damaged or destroyed from intense rains in December 1955. Although the article doesn't mention this particular bridge, I have to wonder if the bridge was damaged enough for it to become not feasible to repair? In any case, this bridge and crumbling road look to have not been in use since 1955.

My posted parking coordinates below are a good spot to park and walk to the truss bridge for your personal visit.
