Diese Station ist Teil des Hamburger Nahverkehrsnetz. Sie ist die mittlere Station der sogenannten Viaduktstrecke zwischen "Rödingsmarkt" und "Landungsbrücken" enlang des Hamburger Hafens. Von hier aus kann man die Hamburger Speicherstadt, mit der zukünftigen Elbphilharmonie und dem Miniatur Wunderland, erreichen.
Die Station selber wurde zwischen 1911 und 1912 erreichtet. Im Jahr 2010 wurde sie im Rahmen der Sanierung der kompletten Viaduktstrecke grundsaniert.
Die Station ist nach dem Hamburgischen Denkmalschutzgesetz ein erkanntes Denkmal.
This station is part of the public transportation network of Hamburg. It is the middle station of the so called "viaduct track" between "Rödingsmarkt" and "Landungsbrücken", along the Hamburg harbor. The station connects to the "Speicherstadt" with the future site of the Elphilharmony and the Miniatur Wunderland.
The station itself was constructed between 1911 and 1912. In 2010 it underwent a significant restauration as part of the restauration of the whole "viaduct track".
According to the "Hamburg law of Monuments", this station is a credited monument.
