The kugel ball is a five-tonne granite orb . The fountain is surrounded by a circular wall and seating, providing a calming and contemplative space for families to reflect. On the outer side of the wall are plaques commemorating donors who have given their organs or tissue to sustain life for a recipient.The fountain, a project initiated by the McDowell family of Geraldton following the tragic loss of their daughter four years ago in a traffic crash, is to honour and pay tribute to organ and tissue donors from the Mid West; and to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.
