4137 - Trail, BC - Canadian Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

After a few dozen winters of the city sanding the icy streets, it has been found that a lot of that sand manages to wash down into all the valve boxes in the street - the ones covering benchmarks in particular.

As a result, it took 3 weeks to actually waymark this one; first week - wait for the water in the box to recede a bit; second week - dig most of the sand and muck out of the box and wait for the rest to dry a bit; third week - dig out the rest of the muck, clean the benchmark tablet as much as possible and photograph.

They're not easy to read, but the "65" from "1965" and the "4137" ARE legible, if only barely.
