This park is named in honour of Mr. Springer, the first owner of the land upon which it sits. Springer owned an orchard which covered the block east and south of this park. When it was subdivided into building lots in the late 1970s, this land was kept out to be used as a park.
When we visited, the park was undergoing renovation, but it normally has a children's playground at the east end, with swings, slides, and all the usual Jungle Jim equipment. This park sees a lot of use from young parents who bring the kiddies here for a break.
Certain groups, both women's and men's have, in the past, after an evening of bar-hopping, used the park to polish their a cappella vocalizations long into the night.
