Hirschberg ist einer der kleinsten der Ortsteile der Stadt Herborn und zählt 332 Einwohner. Er wurde 1351 erstmals in einer Urkunde erwähnt. Damals bestand hier schon eine von einem Kaplan bediente Kapelle. Im Kern dürfte das heute in der Ortsmitte stehende Kirchlein aus dieser Zeit stammen.
Die wuchtige, in Bruchstein erstellte Kirche mit Chor, einem Chorsaal im Dachgeschoß und sechsseitigem Dachreiter aus dem Mittelalter wurde durch den Eingangsbau im Jahre 1926 erweitert. Bemerkenswert ist das ährenförmige Bachkieselpflaster als Bodenbelag in der Kirche. 2001 wurde die Kirche komplett renoviert.
