Monument placed in 2003 by Dr. Samuel Gregg George Chapter 1855 of ECV.
The monument describes the murder of a bar owner, the capture of the culprit in an outhouse, and his subsequent hanging by a mob of towns people. As the marker says "MCCORY'S CLOSING ACT WAS SHORT, TUESDAY AM ARRIVED FROM ARIZONA, MURDERED A MAN IN THE AFTERNOON, AND WAS HUNG IN THE EVENING".
