Bazilika byla vystavena v 1.pol. 13. století jako soucást benediktinského kláštera založeného r. 1101 moravskými Premyslovci Litoldem Znojemským a Oldrichem Brnenským. Vystavena je v románsko-gotickém slohu s bohate zdobeným vchodem, kruhovými okny apsidy, kryptou, freskami. Je zapsána na seznamu UNESCO.

The basilica was built in the 1st half of the 13th century as part of a Benedictine monastery founded in 1101 by Moravian Premyslids Litold of Znojmo and Oldrich of Brno. It was built in Romanesque-Gothic style with richly decorated entrance, round windows of the apse, frescoes. It is registered on the UNESCO list.
