Die Dampflokomotive 043 196-5 wurde am 9. September 1978 hier aufgestellt. Es handelt sich um die letzte aktive Dampflokomotive der Deutschen Bundesbahn. Ihre letzte Fahrt fand am 23. Oktober 1977 von Rheine über Salzbergen nach Emden und zurück statt.
