This is not the average beach to be enjoyed by surfers as the waters are dangerous, it is not patrolled & there is a sewer outlet nearby. However it is popular with fishermen & those exercising their dogs. The day I visited there were body boarders at its southern end. It is named after Metal Manufactures, an industrial complex across the road. There is a pill box which housed a machine gun during the Second World War & similar artefacts to the north. There are good views of the Five Islands & ships at anchor.

There are no facilities & none close by. Parking is on the road verge. There is a shared pathway along the beach so you can walk, ride your bike or drive, the choice is yours. There are no fees & cars aren't allowed on the beach.

Remember to bring everything you need which basically would be your fishing gear and/or your dog.
