These three murals show the history of watercraft on Lake Superior starting with birch bark canoes, sailing vessels, and leading up to recreations boats, fishing boats, and ore ships. They were painted by Laurel Sanders and sponsored by the Great Lakes Fleet in Duluth, Minnesota. They are easily seen on S. Lake Avenue in the harbor area.
