EN: The Vindonissa-Museum is an archaeological museum in Brugg. It shows the history of the Roman military camp Vindonissa in the neighboring municipality Windisch and Roman cultural history.
The building was constructed according to the plans of Albert Frölich 1910 to 1912. The cost was about 150,000 francs. The main facade is a nod to the western gate of the camp Vindonissa, the interiors are inspired by a Roman house in color and form. The building was a landmark for its time and is still today preserved in its original state.
DE: Das Vindonissa-Museum ist ein archäologisches Museum in Brugg. Es vermittelt die Geschichte des römischen Legionslagers Vindonissa in der Nachbargemeinde Windisch sowie die römische Kulturgeschichte.
Das Gebäude wurde nach Plänen von Albert Frölich von 1910 bis 1912 gebaut. Die Baukosten betrugen rund 150,000 Franken. Die Hauptfassade ist eine Anspielung auf das Westtor des Lagers Vindonissa, die Innenräume sind in Form und Farbgebung einem römischen Haus nachempfunden. Der Bau war für die damalige Zeit richtungsweisend und ist bis heute in seinem Originalzustand erhalten geblieben.
