"Built in 1890 Old Red was made of huge blocks of gray granite and red sandstone from Arkansas and Pecos, Texas. Authentic architectural elements display a magnificent piece of Dallas County history. The building features:
Acroteria/Wyverns: Four decorative creatures perch atop the Old Red Museum. These terra cotta figures are acroteria in the shape of wyverns (from the Latin word for “serpent”).
A 90-foot Clock Tower.
Courtroom.
Grand Staircase: Restored to its original 1890 appearance.
Lunettes: More than 100 stained glass windows.
Pegasus: Originally built for the World's Fair in New York.
Vault: Found during restoration."
