John Joy lived his last days at the Eisenhower VA Medical Center at Leavenworth KS. Wheh he passed, a generous gift from his estate financed this gateway monument, which was erected in 1935.
Joy is buried in the Leavenworth National Cemetery nearby in Section 36 Row 10 Site 11.
The VA recognized Joy's generosity on the back of this monument.
