[DE] Der Wasserturm "Belvedere" befindet sich auf dem Lousberg, einem der drei Hausberge Aachens. Der Turm wurde von 1956 - 1958 gebaut und war bis 1988 aktiv als Wasserturm in Betrieb. Danach wurde er durch andere Wasserspeicher ersetzt.

Der Belvedere Turm ist auch heute noch von weitem sichtbar, da er sich auf der höchsten Erhebung von Aachen befindet und auch (noch) den Wald überragt.

In den 70er und frühen 80er Jahren des vorherigen Jahrhunderts befand sich ein Drehrestaurant im obersten Stockwerk, welches ab 2005 im wieder mal in Betrieb, mal außer Betrieb war.

[EN] The Belvedere water tower is located on top of the Lousberg (height: 264 m above sea level), one of three hills surrounding the city of Aachen. The tower was build between 1956 and 1958 and was in active service until 1988. After that, it was replaced by other water reservoirs.

The Belvedere tower is visible already from far distance, as the Lousberg is the highest hill in Aachen.

In the 70s and early 80s, there was a rotating restaurant located in the upper floor of the tower. Since 2005, the restaurant is temporarily in and out of service.
