Subtropolis is creepy and cool, all at the same time! A creative re-use of an old limestone mine, SubTropolis is not your usual industrial park!

SubTropolis takes some getting used to. It can be pretty freaky being underground with a kazillion tons of rock over head, and lits of exhaust-belching vehicles (cars trucks, 18-wheelers and full-sized locomotives -- REALLY) buzzing around -- but it's all 100% solid, very well-ventilated, and everybody scrupulously follows the no-idling rules :)
The brainchild of Lamar Hunt, Dallas native, founder of the American Football League, and former owner of the Dallas Texans, (which he moved to Kansas City as the AFL Chiefs franchise in 1967), SubTropolis is a brilliant reuse of an abandoned limestone mine.
With over 5 MILLION square feet of leasable underground office and industrial space, Subtropolis is the world's largest underground business complex.
Waymark coordinates are taken at the 8300 entrance to SubTropolis -- the one with all the flags. You are welcome to come inside and explore. The leasing office is at the first turnout to your left. They have nice bathrooms there for guests, and they really do welcome sightseers!
