You'd think a park as nice as this one would have a supporting website or some mention of it anywhere but alas, it does not. There is a terrific playground in the center of the area. There is also a multi-war memorial to the right, a vintage train station with parking lot and bathrooms! At the far right or south, just before Newtown Lake is the Newtown Burial ground, a wicked-cool place if you are into the Revolutionary war. There is also a swing set too and a geocache. The J. Raymond Chard Memorial Park was dedicated on September 8, 1979 according to the small, plaque added to the top of the multi-war monument at the intersection of Lynne & Collings Avenues. Parking is available at the train station just to the right of the monument or south of the swings.
