The plaque reads:

HISTORIC SITE

Colorado Press Association

Founded on 17th Street across from [the] Oxford Hotel, in 1878. First president was W.B. Vickers of [the] Denver Tribune (a paper made famous by Eugene Field). Full time managers since 1922: Edwin A. Bemis, Bill Long and Wm. F. Lindsey.
