Rutland was once a separate entity, but is now a community on the north end of Kelowna. This large Sikh Temple is somewhat of a landmark in the area, as its gold dome can be seen from some distance.

The pair of lions guarding the entrance are every bit as impressive as the temple itself. They are done in bronze, with muted gold highlights matching the gold of the temple.

I expect that the lions have some special significance to the Sikhs, but not being one, I have no idea what it might be.
