Gunn School was located in in School District #4851 at this location from 1939 to 1956. The legal land location of the school was SW11-55-03 W5. Across from the old school site an old log cabin that has been added on to. The area of the school is now an aspen stand with a small house.
The sign was placed by the Onoway and District Historical Guild and is reference 967-1015.
Gunn is located on the northeast shore of Lac St. Anne at the intersections of Highway 43 and 33. This hamlet of 93 persons (according to the 2006 census) is located 58 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
