Steden en gemeenten vereerden hun gesneuvelde soldaten en burgerlijke slachtoffers. De jaren twintig werden gekenmerkt door talloze lokale festiviteiten rond nieuw opgerichte monumenten.
Deze gedenksteen bevindt zich vlakbij de Jerusalemkerk in de wijk Sint-Anna te Brugge en werd op 30 september 1928 (te 16.00 uur) onthuld door burgemeester V.Van Hoestenberghe.
We lezen bovenaan “Kring “Ste-Anna Voorwaarts” vrome hulde aan de roemrijke gesneuvelden en burgerlijke slachtoffers der parochie Ste-Anna”. De parochie Sint-Anna was een levendige volkse arbeidersbuurt.

Cities and municipalities worshiped their fallen soldiers and civilian casualties. The twenties were marked by numerous local festivities newly established monuments.
This memorial is located near the Jerusalem Church in the district of St. Anne in Bruges and was unveiled on 30 September 1928 by Mayor V.Van Cough Berghe.
We read top "Kring “Ste-Anna Voorwaarts "pious homage to the glorious dead and victims of the civil parish of Ste-Anne". The parish of St. Anne was a popular lively working-class neighborhood.
