This is a relief art sculpture is called 'Der Schwur' (The Oath). It is located at the outside wall of the court house in the 'Urbanstraße' in Stuttgart, Germany, Baden-Württemberg.
The relief 'Der Schwur', an allegory of justice, has a side length of about 6 m and was created in 1953 by the sculptor Hermann Kress, designed by Hermann Brachert.
Above the inscription "Law and Justice and Freedom" is the people, represented by the representatives of various classes: Mother and child, soldier, man with arms hanging, man with monkey hand, craftsmen with sledgehammers and Farmer with scythe and scion. Above the people the jury sits with three judges, one of them raises his hand to take an oath. High above all is Justitia with sword and scales, and everything is illuminated by the sun, which brings the truth to light.
