Spiral Arch - Salt Lake City, UT, USA - Freestanding Arches on Waymarking.com

This freestanding arch is an abstract art piece that has a certain industrial feel to it. It seems to me to somewhat resemble an extruder with a couple of teeth missing. It has a tubular cross beam with dual beam posts. Atop the crossbeam are a variety of swooping shapes projecting in different directions, however, all of them are in the upward position. The arch is painted a nice brownish red color. With the pillars painted off-white. It extends over the crosswalk in the median of 100 South.

This art piece is listed in the Smithsonian Art Inventories Catalog with the title, "Arch" (visit link) However, on the artists website, he lists this piece as, "Spiral Arch".
