A Brief Biography of Southside:
Southside Assembly of God Church started in a tent in 1951, founded by Pastor V. E. Tipton and Sister Mary Tipton. As God gave the increase, we built our present day sanctuary in 1981. A few years later, in 19xx, we expanded by building the Tipton Family Center, which has full kitchen and dining facilities, classrooms, and a gymnasium.
Southside Assembly of God has a spacious, well-equipped sanctuary to accommodate the needs and growth of God's church. Though it has been through some rough times, including a church parting not too many years ago, Southside is alive and well in the Spirit and moving forward doing God's work. Through the Holy Spirit, we have been able to provide Biblical teaching and nurturing, as well as a full range of activities at these facilities. We're staying the course!
Saving the Lost Sheep (The Lord is Our Shepherd)
From Then Until Now (Who We Are)
We here at Southside are interested in developing a closer personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and in bringing the Lost into His fold to be saved from a sinner's burning Hell. We wish to reach out and share the Gospel (good news about Jesus) to every individual. Jesus IS coming back, and He's coming back soon!
Some Things We Have Done and Are Doing
Our congregation has contributed faithfully to several missions
around the world for years. We have also been a supporter and
contributor to the local Teen Challenge (Teen Challenge USA) here
in the Dallas area. It is a Christian organization dedicated to helping young men recover from drug- and alcohol-addictions through
discovering a personal relationship with Christ and His great gift of
salvation." [end]
