This small park is a project of the Friends of the Library. At last count the group consisted of over 50 people, young and old. The youngest volunteer is 14 and the oldest is 92. The Friends supplied the labour and the Rotary Club supplied the financing.
The park is a quiet place, intended to be used as an adjunct to the library in the summer, affording an outdoor alternative for reading, web surfing, conversing or just smelling the flowers.
The area consists of flower gardens and shrub beds, a fountain and pool, and seating areas. In the rear is a small four level amphitheatre with a small stage for concerts and readings of prose and poetry. On the library wall are several plaques acknowledging all who contributed to the garden.
