This detailed mailbox resembles a steam locomotive appropriate for its location at the Colorado Railroad Museum. The mailbox sits atop a switchstand near the entrance to the museum. In the second Waymark photo above, you can see engine № 191—Colorado's oldest steam locomotive—in the background. The engine was built in 1880 and used on the Denver Leadville & Gunnison railroad.
