This NGS benchmark is imbedded on top of a boulder just west of Egert Rd in Klamath County, OR.

I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey NGS benchmark from 1943 in good condition. It's monumented on top of a boulder just west of Egert Rd and near an old wire fence. There is a stamping of F 350 on the disk in addition to the year. It is also found on a topography map listed as 'BM F 350 4294.3'. The NGS datasheet is adequate for disk recovery although Egert Rd is not mentioned in the NGS datasheet.

RECOVERY NOTE BY US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY 1981 ABOUT 1.1 MILES EAST ALONG OREGON S.H. 140 FROM THE POST OFFICE AT DAIRY, THENCE 3.5 MILES ALONG THE HILDEBRAND ROAD, THENCE 4.1 MILES NORTH ALONG A ROAD, THENCE 0.15 MILES WEST ALONG ROAD, ABOUT 400 FT. SOUTH OF THE BEND IN ROAD, 21.5 FEET WEST OF AN OLD FIELD ROAD, AT THE TOP OF A LAVA ROCK FORMATION, ABOUT 25 EAST OF A SMALL CLUFF, A STANDARD DISK, STAMPED ''F 350 1943'' A SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.
