This attractive brick Beaux Arts building cost $45,000 to build in 1912. Buhl was settled in 1898 as a logging village, but quickly joined the other communities on the Iron Range in mining explorations and development. The two story structure has multiple columns flanking the front door and houses city offices and court, offices for water, light, power and heating official, a police station and jail, a public hall and council chambers, and facilities for the local band in the basement. It is located on the corner of Jones Avenue and Forest Street, and was put on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
