Morrisons' Bishop Auckland store is built on the former railway goods yard and the weathervane commemorates this. It's an 0-4-0 shunting engine in silhouette placed on the clock tower above the main entrance and can be seen from the adjacent Newgate Street as well as from the large store car park.
