The final resting place of Cora B. Scott is at the very far southeast corner of Fairlawn Cemetery, just north of the entrance gate. Hers is a flat marker in excellent condition.

Some worldwide events and accomplishments that occurred during Cora's time on earth:

1878: Yellow fever in the Mississippi Valley kills over 13,000
1888: Frank Edward McGurrin, a court stenographer from Salt Lake City, Utah, purportedly the only person using touch typing at the time, wins a decisive victory over Louis Traub in a typing contest held in Cincinnati, Ohio. This date can be called the birthday of the touch typing method that is widely used now.
1898: Joshua Slocum completes a 3-year solo circumnavigation of the world.
1908: Henry Ford produces his first Model T automobile.
1918: Women's suffrage in the United Kingdom: Representation of the People Act gives most women over 30 the vote.
1928: The 1928 Summer Olympics officially open in Amsterdam.
1938: Italian mathematician Ettore Majorana disappears suddenly under mysterious circumstances while going by ship from Palermo to Naples.
1948: Columbia Records introduced it's long playing 33 1/3 rpm phonograph format.
1958: The satellite Sputnik 2 disintegrates in space after several orbits.
1968: My Lai massacre: American troops kill scores of civilians. The story will first become public in November 1969 and will help undermine public support for the U.S. efforts in Vietnam.
1978: Mavis Hutchinson, 53, becomes the first woman to run across the U.S.; her trek took 69 days.
