Das Foto ist um 1947 herum aufgenommen, Standort des Fotografen ist die heutige Nordspitze des Parks der Menschenrechte. Der Blick geht nach Südosten zur Neustädter Straße, wo der Wiederaufbau bereits in Gang gekommen ist, während vorn an der Ruine des alten Kindermannstifts noch enttrümmert wird. Das Haus Neustädter Straße 14 ist bereits fast fertig und ermöglicht mit seinem markanten Erker die Identifizierung des Motivs, vom 1948 erfolgten Wiederaufbau des Nachbargebäudes ist indes noch nicht viel zu sehen.

The photo was taken about 1947 on the northern edge of today's Park der Menschenrechte (Human Rights' Park) with the view going in south-easterly direction to Neustaedter Strasse. There, reconstruction is already in progress, while in the foreground clearance of the destroyed old Kindermannstift building is going on. The house 14 Neustaedter Strasse is almost finished and can be clearly identified by its distinctive projecting alcoves, while the house next door, which was reconstructed in 1948, is still in ruins.
