The blind is a short walk (500 meters) from the parking area. The blind is setup for viewing yellowed eyed penguins which are only seen in New Zealand. The penguins are best viewed at different times of day at different times of the year. There is an information sign at the parking area giving the best view times. Within the blind are information signs about the penguins.
