The sundial sits on a plinth as the centrepiece of a well landscaped garden in the Singapore Botanical Gardens. This garden seems popular with visitors, there were groups of people eating and busily socialising when I visited. The sundial consists of two intersecting curves, with a horizontal bar between. The shadow cast by the bar on the curves indicates the time.
The sundial sits on a plinth, which has an inscription: "What thou / seekest / is a / shadow". There are carvings of human figures also on the plinth.
Sundial Type: Polar - dial plate parallel with earth axis
