This Marker is mounted on the front of the building at 1598 Esmeralda Avenue in Minden, Nevada. It is Stop #9 on the Discover Minden Walking Tour. A brochure detailing all 48 stops of the tour is available from the Minden Chamber of Commerce.

Carson Valley Drug Store

Built in 1959 by John Ellis, this building was leased to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rahnke who operated the drug store located in the Mercantile. In 1963 the pharmacy was sold to Jim and Jane Stratton who operated it until 1977 when they moved to a new location in Gardnerville.
