This is a roadside beacon alongside Tambotie street in Vryheid. Note that despite the beacon name, it cannot be viewed from Kerkstraat (Church Street) which is otherside the houses.

This beacon was obviously there long before the houses. There is now a row of houses between the beacon and the street it's named after.
You'll see that the garden wall detours around the beacon which probably means that it's little triangle of land is a registered servitude.
The home owner has built a small rockery around the beacon, of which only the base remains.
