With this waymark listing, we'd like to honor the owner of the nearby cache GC1341 Eucaliptus.
Stan Hoffman, geonick "Hosta" sadly passed away in February 2011. Stan came from the Czech Republic, and had an amazing zest for life. Despite being in his late 60's, Stan was incredibly fit, and used to go everywhere with his little City Golf, one-man tent, and mountain bicycle. The cache Euacaliptus is the second oldest active cache in South Africa.
Stan stayed with us in Nelspruit for a week just 2 months before his death, and we had great fun caching together. His death was very sad - he was assaulted near Middelburg, shot in the throat, and despite being admitted to hospital while still alive, he failed to survive his injuries. RIP Stan, you were a special friend!!
